In response to the "Song List Sucks" people:
Here is a challenge for you. List your 50 song list of songs for GH-X (made up GH game). You cannot only post a few songs, the list has to be 50 so you have the same challenge as RedOctane. You can not use songs that have been unsed in GH1 or 2. Then we'll see how people like your lists. Hell, I'd like to see most of you "genre specific" fans come up with 50 songs at all that would be worth playing.
My hypothesis:
Your song list will have the same complaints you write about GH2's lists. It is impossible to make a game that goes out to 1,000,000,000+ people without someone being left in the corner crying about something lame.
Play the game, its fun, if you like GH1 better then go play that one, or spend some time to come up with a list that everyone likes. I bet you'll beat the game on expert before you can come up with a list everyone will like without complaint.
Try it though we'll see. I won't because I don't have any complaints with the list, nor could I alone come up with a 50 song list that would rock in a reasonable amount of time.

additionally, Bands like ACDC, Metallica, Maiden, Zeppelin, The Who, (real) Van Halen, (...) are not allowed. RO tried to get these bands into GH but weren't allowed to either...
I can see alot of uber-crappy metal and screamo/emo lists coming..

Yeah, I didn't want to make to many rules, but yes, some of the best lists would have those bands in them and then the list poster would realize that a majority of the list was cut out due to the world of Music Business.
So, yeah, having a bad ass list is not the end, but its a good start....... Just don't be surprised when the big names give you the middle finger, or you raise the selling price of GH from $40 to $200. Then you'll get whoever you want. BUSINESS. Understand it. Hating it will keep you poor and dumb.

Sorry, it has to be :)
If these bands or their labels were willing to cooperate we would already play them in gh2
and 50 songs because it's too easy to list your 5 favourite songs. And then I assume the rest is crap or that you are satisfied with 5 good songs in a GH game.

Yeah, Bedlam is correct,
There are forum posts for a few songs you like. THIS POSTING is for those who are willing to make a list of 50 songs like they did for GH2 to see how people like your FULL list.
It is a hard challenge and I'll be happy just to see a list of 50 songs that rip and are not in GH1 or 2.

I can dig it too, for the most part. I would do away with the Metallica. I've never been a big fan of them, and also a more classic Green Day track would be better then Holiday anyday, in my opioion, American Idiot is far from ever matching their older stuff, but beyond that I can't say it's a bad list and if that was an offical list for a guitar hero game, I'd buy it.

Yeah, nice work on all who posted a list of 30+ songs. Not are all songs, but a good effort. Still I didn't see anyone say hands down every song, but my point is pretty much made. Pick a massive list of songs with good playable parts and most will like it, some songs they won't.
But, as a whole both of your songlists rock, and while I may not giz on every song, there is way more than enough to satisfy my $50 of entertainment value.
Hey, I'm not hating on the lists so what does my Kudos matter. You gotta get some pissy little kid in here whos mom buys him the game even though he didin't clean his room to say your list rocks.......... And then we'll hear the bitching.
Since I work I equate everything to how much it will cost/benefit me. If I play for 200 hours over a year, and the game cost me $50, that only $0.25 and hour for the entertainment. It probably costs me more to keep the TV on than it does for me to play GH. That's a lot better entertainment value than going to:
A. Vegas to gamble
B. To a strip club
C. To a regular club
D. To all three in Vegas in one night
and so on. The @#$@ kicks ass.
