It must be about a year, right?

I made this cake for a friend... he's a huge fan. It's yellow inside with chocolate and cream cheese frosting. And it was surprisingly easy. My only real regret is that I didn't have a suitable whammy bar for the top. Or a tray to put it on. Here it is:

This is the cake.

This is the cake from another angle.

This is the cake with a size and color reference.

This is the cake right before it got TOTALLY EATEN.

We don't have to sing or anything... I just wanted to present the homage. Happy birthday, game!

Oh. I didn't know someone had tried before. Happy birthday anyway.

I did read through the thread you linked, though. The most curious thing to me is that the fellow used a Funfetti cake mix, but went to all the trouble of making not only the pan but the frosting from scratch (possibly from the same materials, judging by looks). Making frosting is a crummy job and they sell it already made for like $3 right next to the cake mix. Odd choice.

Yeah, good job. This ones seem to be more edible than the @#$@ cake. It actually looks like it might taste good too.

I don't know if I worded it oddly, but I didn't make the frosting myself.

Oh, my mistake. When you said, "Yeah, the frosting does look pretty repulsive, but it is homemade," I took that to mean the frosting was homemade. At any rate, I salute your ambition to make your cake life-sized.

Kinda reminds me of feeding a dog b-day cake and then it wiped its butt on the floor. Poor poor carpet, never stood a chance.

I'd probably have eaten that cake, looked (kinda) good. It looked very good for an SG cake.

The star power candles really make it. I'm having a GH2 release party on Nov 10. Mabe I'll make a cake for it.

I probally would have used a bendy straw for the whammy, or make one out a pretzel rod with white chocolate or frosting on it.

I'd use neco wafers for the buttons and knobs

white chocolate pick guard...mmmmm

man, I want some cake.....

Anyone up for a "Pimp your SG Cake" contest?, Pics posted by midnite Sunday Nov 12?
