I found a post about a game from the former owners where a RedOctane admin asked to keep those discussions out of the forums. I completely agree that it shouldn't be talked about on RedOctane's forums, but there are tons of fans looking to find out :

A: Is there more DLC coming?

B: If so, how long until it arrives?

C: Are there legal concerns holding it back, or is it the conversion taking the time?

D: Is the 360 going to get Rock the 80's as DLC?

Please answer one or any of these questions, or at least let us know this is being read.

At this point, I'd say f*** RO/Activision...by RockBand instead. Besides, it's by the original creators of the GH series, and therefore likely to be better ;)

At this point I'd say f*** you! GH is going to be better, even if it's by Neversoft.

Indie/Alternative Rocker.

Songs or Bands that should be in GHIII:
Modest Mouse
The White Stripes - Icky Thump (it would be such a fun song to play)
The Secret Machines - Lightning Blue Eyes
Foo Fighters
System of a Down (Question!)
Blink 182 (depending on the song)
Wolfmother - The Joker and The Thief (YES!!!)
The Lemurs - Breaking You Down (local band from Austin, TX)
Drist
Eagles of Death Metal - I Want You So Hard (Boys Bad News)
Matisyahu - King Without a Crown
The Vacation - White Noise

Hi folks,

First off, thanks for your feedbacks and concerns on the future of GH. While nothing's been formally announced, look for something to come down the pipeline around the July timeframe :)

Super! I look forward to continuously mocking you for being totally lame about how you have dealt with this issue unless your July announcement goes something like:

"here are all of the GHI songs as FREE DLC because we have dealt with this issue so poorly (and stupidly) and we suck! We are honestly embarrassed and ashamed at how we have treated our loyal fans and hope that you can forgive us and possibly buy more from the Guitar Hero franchise in the future. We truly feel regretful and humbled by this unfortunate incident. We do apologize and hope that you will continue to support our forth-coming projects. Sorry!"

That's great news, I was starting to worry that there would be no more DLC. Thanks for the feedback RedOctane.

I was very concerned too. I know a lot of people who buy the whole GHI list. I understand the frustration of a lot of GH players, however besides legal issuies, programming, and Microsoft Live being a pain forcing you guys to charge money for anything that you like to give us for free, please give us as much as possable, even if GHIII is out or about to be out, please do nto stop with the DLC, its very good to be able to play more songs and I hope you bring out ACES HIGH by iron maiden. The Trooper was a perfect addition, and maybe you guys can come out with DLC Packs, of 5 really good types of songs. Metal/ Hardcore pack (arch enemy, dragon force, static x/slipknot) , Pop Pack, Classic rock pack, and rock the 80's pack which well you got the idea since your already making Rock the 80's. Please!!!! Oh nice Duo playin in the backround, nice. Holy DIVER!

Now I wonder if you can get some better voices or pay for the actual song lyrics, at least an uncensored Mature pack, with a real cursing ;)

Keep up the good work! and we will keep sending you our well made money!!! bruhahah!

That's it? "something" around July?

Too little too late guys. I just took my GH3 money and used it to preorder Rockband.

For having "more online content than anyone has ever seen," this is a complete joke. We, the hardcore supporters of the GH franchise, have to wait yet another month for an announcement regarding future online content.

The only way RedOctane will be able to redeem themselves in my eyes is to release the entire '80s edition plus exclusive songs as 360 DLC. My interest in Guitar Hero is declining almost daily and this feeble news does nothing to counter that.

I only registered to say this.

I watched this go down like everyone else. I gawked at the $6.50 packs. I swallowed and I bought one. And I watched everyone else post on this forum about how high the costs were. I watched the protests. I watched the official petition site get put up on Wikipedia.
Then I patiently waited, just like almost everyone else. I waited two weeks after the first DLC, and was disappointed. Then I waited a month. And I, like everyone, was disappointed. And I watched the threads pile up, and the posts pile up. RO sucks, RO where is the new DLC, RO you said the most DLC out of everyone.
A week went by, and another. The threads slowly started to change. Gone were the torrents of DLC pricing issue threads, slowly replaced by more and more people asking for DLC at all.
Another week. And a few more. The threads kept changing, continually. DlC pricing was almost buried under the piles of threads about information, any information. Dozens of people just asking for "no new DLC," or "we are currently working on it," people who lost all hope in new DLC coming out soon, just asking for information.
What just happened? RO just gave information. Not only information, a tentative date. July. Not a "no more DLC," not a "we are currently working on it," but an actual date, a confirmation that DLC is coming up. And you are berating them for this, when so many of you were asking for less? there was frequent talk of losing your bargaining leverage by buying the packs. I think the Guitar Hero community collectively lost their bargaining leverage when they went from angry protestors to desperate users.

What just happened is what's commonly known as "a swindle". There were also elements of stealing, lying, and ... well, you get it.

I'd learn to ignore xtkbilly...as he/she's obviously a fanboy/fangirl of RO/Activision rather than an actual consumer ;)

RockBand's gonna kick @$$

A swindle, eh? Yeah...that pretty much sums it up.

anything less than all the GHI songs at a reasonable price will qualify as failure in my eyes at this point

... at this point, I don't know if I'd even count THAT as a success.

...it's sad, you know. I used to be excited about GH2-360...then RO ripped us all off.

Well, I do hope someone will be able to share how much of a ripoff/dissapointment this DLC pack will be.
